​Reconstructions at Chainbridge Began

The reconstruction of Lánchíd utca running in front of the newly renovated Castle Bazaar started at the end of April. The constructions cost HUF 1.6 billion are expected to be finished at the end of August. In the confines of the reconstruction the street gets a new pavement and lamps, and a bike line also will be built.

The reconstruction of Lánchíd utca running in front of the newly renovated Castle Bazaar, from Clark Ádám tér towards Elisabeth Bridge started in the morning at the 29th of April 2014. The street was closed from traffic the previous night. The constructions cost HUF 1.6 billion are expected to be finished at the end of August; according to the plans the fireworks can be viewed from here at the 20th August.

New Pavement and Green Areas

Within the confines of the reconstruction the street gets a new pavement, lamps, fountains, and a new harbor will be built from HUF 70 million. The size of the green areas will be increased, and a new bike line and tram stations will be built. The public supply mains running under the street will also be replaced – this costs HUF 460 million. The reconstruction is supported by the EU within the confines of the Transport Operational Program. At the same time Clark Ádám tér and Öntőház utca will be reconstructed.

A 4.8-Thousand Square-Meter Sidewalk is to Be Built

The work starts with demolishing the old pavement, the next step is the removal of the old public supply mains and replacing them with new ducts and wires, and the last one is the laying of the elements of the new pavement. During the constructions beside Lánchíd utca Ybl Miklós tér and Apród utca will also be closed from traffic, and temporary parking spaces will be created. Within  the confines of the reconstruction a 19.9-thousand square-meter sidewalk and asphalt and a 3.5-thousand square-meter pavement will be demolished, a 4.8-thousand square-meter new pavement and a 6,7-thousand square-meter basalt ashlars laid, and 42 candelabrums placed on the street. The traffic junction at the encounter of Krisztina körút and Attila út will also be renewed: new green areas will be built and some tram stations relocated.
