The Hungarian wellness hotels are popular abroad: two new Chinese hotels use the Hungarian model for their construction, and the health supplies used for the spa and medical treatments will be provided by Hungary, too. Wellness hotels are a relatively new kind of service in China.
Two Chinese wellness hotels are built based on a Hungarian model, one in Beijing and another one in Taiwan. The models are the Carbona Hotel in Hévíz and the Spirit Hotel in Sárvár, and the health supplies used for the spa and medical treatments will be provided by the latter one. Wellness hotels are a relatively new kind of accommodation in China. In the two new hotels local thermal water is to be used for treatments. Besides providing the bases for the project the Hungarian partner will also help the Chinese to run the hotels.
The Hotel Complex Can Be Further Expanded
The wellness hotel located 100 kilometers from the Chinese capital is already in use; it has 272 rooms. The another one located 50 kilometers from Taipei City is currently being built: the 64-thousand-quare-meter complex will have more than 50 pools and a conference center. According to one of the owners of the Spirit−Carbona Group, Alex Pocsai, there are already plans for expanding the complex. The another owner of the group is the former Austrian and Hungarian hotel director, Alfred Hackl. Beside the wellness services the hotels will provide medical treatments as well, for which the health supplies will be provided by the new branch of business of the Spirit Hotel of Sárvár.
The Hungarian Models
The five-star Spirit Hotel Thermal Spa was opened in 2008 in Sárvár. The hotel has 271 rooms, all with balconies, and some of the suits have a round bed and a Jacuzzi. The 10-thousand-square-meter wellness department contains 22 pools and a medical center. The hotel has an own thermal water well. The four-star NaturMed Hotel Carbona is located in a 4.6-ha park in Hévíz. The hotel has 261 rooms with balconies, and its thermal bath (which has a one-thousand-square-meter water surface) invokes the atmosphere of the ancient Rome. Besides the inside and outside pools the hotel provides a medical department and rheumatologic treatments for the guests.
