A new 6-storey swimming palace is to be built for the 2021 World Aquatics Championships and the 2017 World Junior Swimming Championships at the north side of the Dagály Baths. The new, 25-square-meter complex is to be ready by 2016, costs HUF 8 billion, and according to the expectations will be a new spectacle of Budapest, and determine the landscape at the banks of the Danube. 
The visuals of the swimming complex to be built for the 2021 World Aquatics Championships and the 2017 World Junior Swimming Championships were first showed to the public at a press conference on the 11th February. The new building located at the north side of the Dagály Baths can be ready by 2016. A modern and timeless building is to be erected, which will be a new spectacle of Budapest, and determine the landscape at the banks of the Danube. It was decided last summer that the Hungarian capital would give home for the 2021 World Aquatics Championships and the 2017 World Junior Swimming Championships; and in order to make Hungary a good host, it was necessary to build a new, modern facility.
The 25-Square-Meter Complex Costs HUF 8 Billion
The infrastructure and public transport of the neighborhood will also be developed in order to make it easier for the several 10 thousand future visitors to get to the sites of the championship. The swimming palace is planned to be a 25-thousand-square-meter building, and it gets a movable roof. The bleachers will have 5 thousand seats. Several competition, exercise and education pools and a diving tower will be built in the complex. The bleachers will be extended with a 13-seat mobile part. The project costs HUF 8 billion. The plans can be ready by October/November 2014, and the work can start at the beginning of 2015. Since according to the plans the swimming complex will be inaugurated at least a half year before the 2017 championship, the swimmers, the water polo players, the divers and the synchronized swimming teams will have an appropriate place to train.
