Duna House Holding figures 11 921 property sales in February 2016 in Hungary based on the estimation of the representative sample of real estate transactions.
In February the turnover was excessively high in the real estate market. The rate in the first month was that of last January. In February, however, the turnover rate came 10 % more than that of the second month 2015. There is no denying the fact that the number of the working days was higher this month, even so these data have been outstanding. The January forecasts of Duna House showed a record number of demands, therefore transactions were looked to expand.
Both the increased demand and supply, the growing number of sales due to exchanging all loan capitals to HUF drove the real estate market. The increasing willingness of the families entitled to receive the Family Housing Government Benefit (CSOK) to move into new apartments and to sell their properties is also among the main factors that have primarily led to a boom in the real estate market in February.
The first 2 months of this year has a surplus of 5 % as a whole compared to last year. The tangible effects of the real estate market trends, however, may become more unambiguous over the next few months.
