The second renewed part of Corvin sétány, the area between Nagytemplom utca and Leonardo Da Vinci utca is ready. Building the avenue is one of the central projects of the renewal of the region. According to the mayor of the district the renewed avenue will lure new investors to the neighborhood, and the reputation of the district can also improve.The second renewed part of Corvin sétány (Corvin Avenue) was inaugurated on the 29th October. Building the part connecting the areas between two streets, Nagytemplom utca and Leonardo Da Vinci utca cost HUF 150 million. According to the opinion of the district mayor the renewed avenue will lure new investments to the neighborhood, new workplaces can be created, and the reputation of the district can also improve.
A 280-Thousand Square-Meter Area Has Been Built-Up so Far
The 22-ha area was previously home for some small, one and two-story houses, which were in a poor state. A 280-thousand square-meter area was built-up in the past 7 years. The Corvin Plaza was opened in 2010, firstly a 50 and then another 6 thousand square-meter office space was built, the neighborhood was also renewed, and new cultural and sport centers were built. The shopping centre has daily 20 thousand visitors, and the 1200-apartment residential park has 3000 residents. 20 percent of the apartments were bought by foreign, mostly Spanish, Russian and Israeli investors.
Another 200 Apartments Are to be Built
At the end of the year a new part of the project is to be started. Within the confines of this part another 200 apartments are to be built, and a large green area is to be created. The constructions of the place named Park Residence can be finished by the end of 2015. According to the mayor the project can help dissolving the bad reputation of the district. World-famous architects and university students were also involved in making the plans of the project, which is one of the largest renewal project in Central Europe and currently the most remarkable property renewal investment of the capital as well. The project was started in 2004: besides the apartments, the offices and the shopping centre a wellness center was also built here.
