Back

Pozsonyi út in Újlipótváros and its neighborhood was completely renewed. The sight of the 13th district-area improved a lot in the last few years. The green areas got enlarged, and new pavements and parking lots were constructed.
The sight of Pozsonyi út in the 13th district changed completely in the last few years. Within the confines of the renewal of Újlipótváros first the Margaret Bridge and the Saint Stephen Park built in 1935 were reconstructed in 2011, and the next project was the renewal of Pozsonyi út. The 1.2 kilometer-long avenue got 20 percent more green areas, the parking was reorganized, decreasing the number of traffic jams, and several pavements appropriate for children and elderly were built. According to the Europe Plan including the main lines of the development of the area an avenue lining the bank of the Danube was to be built in 2007-2013, but the plan hasn’t been realized yet.
Developments Made the Neighborhood More Appealing
But the investments realized up till now have already helped the district to be more appealing: the retail shops, catering facilities and the apartments became higher in demand. According to the data of FHB apartment price index average prices showed an increase between 2007 and 2011, and currently the larger apartments are in demand. In the examined era 200 transactions were realized, which is a relatively high number, since there are only a few thousand houses on the avenue. Experts don’t exclude the opportunity that in a time multinational fashion companies and other retails will also appear in the neighborhood. Although currently Andrássy út and Váci utca are the most popular places among the fashion companies for renting a retail shop space; the avenue’s closeness to the bank of the Danube can be attractive in the eyes of the investors.
